DeMi, Mclaughlin and Paco has a few albums together. They are amazing. Those three deserve their own 'G3' tour w/e Vai and Satch...Don't get me wrong though, I love Vai and Satch and some acoustic guitar playing on Vai's 'alive in an ultra world', namely the song Brandos Costumes is fantastic. I really haven't heard Satch play acoustic guitar, which is a pitty...does he ever play acoustic guitar? but anyway, if Di Meola is joining as the 3rd 'G' then both Vai and Satch need to have a few acoustic guitar pieces in there...otherwise DeMi will look pretty outta place...

I'd really like to see Scott Henderson and the Tribal Tech band with Steve and Joe. Imagine this.....Scott, Steve and Joe jamming together on a version of "Woodstock Jam"!

Here's my list:

1. Tony Macalpine

Let's face it, this dude deserves it! One of the trailblazers of the Mike Varney-era who's kept himslef up-to-date, playing fusion & jazz outside his world-renowned neo-classical chops! He can prolly shuttle between sets for Vai as keyboardist or Vai getting Steve Weingart for his band! And oh, he's a grammy-nominated artist for his work with CAB!

2. Andy Timmons

This dude is a perfect foil for the 2 greats, as he's paid his dues with critically-acclaimed instrumental & vocal albums. He's a classic virtuoso who doesn't need wang bars & 24 frets to get his message across & plays from the heart!

3. Frank Gambale
4. Richie Kotzen( although i'm not sure if he's willing to play his debut album & Electric Joy's songs! )
5. Vinnie Moore
5. Reb Beach
6. George Lynch
7. Brett Garsed
8. Gary Hoey
9. TJ Helmerich
10. Rusty Cooley

Other greats who'll never get to their fame & stature but who'll forever stay as supernatural talents that i'd wish to be the next "G" in an ideal world would be:

* Derek Taylor
* Tom Kopyto
* Scott Stine
* George Bellas
* Rob Johnson
* Bob Katsionis
* Jeffrey Ryan Smoots

And if i would be given by God to pick one, of course, i'll pick DAVE WEINER! The most refreshing instrumentalist i've come across in recent memory! Killer riffs & licks, well-thought songs!!!

"Wowsers!! I'm gonna kill them if they don't record that thing on DVD this time..."

There's a lot of that sentiment around, I asked Joe at G3 04' why he chose not to put that one on DVD, and I can't remember his exact answer, but I remember he said he regretted it and that he'd have to tour again with Petrucci and this time get a DVD released of it.

So fingers crossed everyone...you think they'll bring out a DVD of the G3 04' tour with Fripp? That would kick so much ass if they did.
