My vote goes to Tom Scholtz from the band Boston.

It would really be cool if Eddie'll get his act together and be the 3rd G! It'll be like 3 Generations of Guitar gods!

I swear to God if Joe can make that happen, every show's gonna be massive and sold out to death!

Hey Dave....I know this is kinda off topic but I just wanted to say I finally saw Live at the Astoria London and was impressed with your playing. I really enjoyed Daves party piece. Short but very very cool. You guys rock!

I think Buckethead would be pretty cool on a G3 or Paul Gilbert...or...Mattias Ia Eklundh....

Re: Who would be a really cool 3rd G on the G3 Tour?

I just gotta say though, I'm watching G3: Denver...Yngwie butchers Little Wing. To those of you who like him, I see the appeal, but he's just too "notey." I've heard the same said for Gilbert, but I think it's totally different in the sense that he knows when to quit. Yngwie comes out with straight 32 notes at 200BPM and after about 45 seconds you've heard everything your going to hear. That is just not appropriate when playing Little Wing, or comping at all...I mean I would get a cymbal thrown at me at a gig if I did that. okay I had to vent that out. another option could be Dweezil...he would be a pretty hip addition.

Re: Who would be a really cool 3rd G on the G3 Tour?

Yeah dude, both here and at his site forum(www.tonymacalpine.com).

I'm the biggest TMAC fan in the world but i guess it ain't just happening, at least not in the near future.

I think he has to release a new album before such talk could prosper, i mean, he's too busy playing with CAB, Ring of Fire, "The Breed"(Vai's touring band) and loads of other musicians that i heard he's not in the mood of making/finishing a new record right now; And there's has to be some fresh and viable material before somebody could play in G3, take John Petrucci for example. He's reported to be on the next G3 roster in Japan this year or the next and i think having a new solo LP("Suspended Animation") helped him get the gig.

And oh, who's gonna play foil to Steve's demonic duels, aside from our boy Dave Weiner here? Not to mention playing the keys as well! <sIgH>

Re: Who would be a really cool 3rd G on the G3 Tour?

Steve Morse: I can dream, right?

Brian May : That would be a change of pase for Steve and Joe... no shred-a-thon and more melodic stuff... more finesse.

Jimmy Page: I know 99.9% of the people that circle around guitar players forums or prog rock bands forums tend to say that he´s sloopy, overrated, etc.. But I´d like to see a representative of the "old" guard and the two modern big guns. *anti flame uniform on*
