Re: Who would be a really cool 3rd G on the G3 Tour?

One more: Slash

Watching him and Satch out blues each other? That would be epic.

All JP´s fans are like the tittle of his album... in suspended animation waiting for that album to get released. John played some of the songs included on S.A. during his set on 2001 G3 tour. So really that material is not that new.

I wonder what is going to happen with DT´s tour and the release of the new album. I wonder because James La Brie is doing a tour, Dt is playing on various european festivals... but the set on those dates will be short.

I can say you are not the only one. Satch, Vai and Morse would be, for me, the best G3, period. Lucky were the ones that were present on the 2001 G3 gig that Morse guest appeared on the Jam (2001 G3 lineup was Satch, Vai and Petrucci...that + Morse is just too good, hehe)

Um... G3 is Satch's gig. You have a much better shot of Vai getting dropped than Satch, and that isn't going to happen either.

Morse would be cool, that man's alternate picking technique is awe-inspiring, yet he's so tasteful you barely even tonice.

You know...
Inviting Edward Van Halen to the G3 tour would be an historic event as well as being a good way to save the guy basically. He is a living legend and nobody cares about him anymore which is criminal I think.
In a Guitar World interview done back in 1986 , Edward Van Halen mentioned that the two guitarists he really liked at the moment were Satriani and Vai so...

I think John 5 would be a pretty cool addition. Good contrast with the other guys.

Re: Who would be a really cool 3rd G on the G3 Tour?

I'd have to go with Eddie Van Halen myself, but only if he brought Michael and Alex with him, how cool would that be? There's so many that you can think about joining up w/Steve and Joe, but I mean really, Eddie, IMHO deserves it more than most, think of the influence he's put into motion. And even though it's not possible, how 'bout if Stevie Ray Vaughn was still here, God rest his soul, now your talking about a blues show down between the 3. SRV is one Vai's main influences, can you imagine???
