I can only confirm that's what they're supposed to be

BTW, nice picture of James from COF in the catalog!

The report should be done and all links correct now. Should be anyway

Re: 2005 NAMM Report

I'm looking to become a first time Ibanez owner... I tried the 2004 SZ720 in store and fell in love with it. I know nothing of Ibanez pickups.. Are the new duncans (replacing the SZ pups) current to any 2004 models from Ibanez?

If so.. would they improve the sound of this guitar compared to last years buckers... and justify the list price from 800$ to 840$?

Thx for any info...I'm going to put a deposit tomorrow for a 2004 or 2005... Need to know which one I want I also like the back nut on the 2005.

Thx for the nice pix Rich!!!!!

Re: 2005 NAMM Report

I just read what you said about Edge III in the rg section but is there a clear superior bridge betwen the Edge Pro II and the Edge III or is it just preferance?

Re: 2005 NAMM Report

Until some usage reports come back that'll be unknown. On the surface it looks like just another EPII version, but the string lockdowns on the saddles are different, and the saddles themselves [past the Edge/lo pro diference] may be allot different. Time will tell.

Thanks for the full report Rich, am I the only one who's really digging the new Artcore Custom jazzboxes?

Yes, i noted this when we first saw photos of them. It looks like they made the treble side cutaway a little less deep so the lower horn looks more balanced and not so dreadfully thin. I would imagine it looked way too thin when it was carved, (and perhaps they had production problems with carving such a thin horn) so they beefed it up a bit.

Now here's something that hasn't received any attention yet:

Re: 2005 NAMM Report

It's too bad they're not exactly as pictured. From the specs, it looks like the RG is based on the RGT42DX... it's going to have shark tooth inlays. I think it looks so much better with that blank rosewood board.

Thanks Darren, I couldn't remember the guys name so I left them off until I could get it! I'll work on that later.

Re: 2005 NAMM Report

Ugh... I agree that this would look much better with no inlays. I never really cared much for the sharktooth inlays to begin with.

Re: 2005 NAMM Report

The Sharktooth inlays are indeed bad looking...I'd rather have a blank board or dot inlays....

Re: 2005 NAMM Report

Hi Rich, its the designation i was after.
the picture is listed as an ICX220BK but the image is too small to make out the product code on the RVX.

Thanks again.
