Re: 2005 NAMM Report
Yep, Rich you right, 70% tweakers and the guitars will sell anyway, Im a tweaker who thinks the mirror Jem is a bit high for no coolness in the inlay department, yet im sure i will end up getting one anyway, after all it is a new killer Jem Concept, and now days, the Jem line is not for the average player to afford anymore, it's more of the higher end enthusiast/player/collector. This is the reality us old schoolers must face and move on.
Dudes, i just played/worked on a little over 150 Japan made new Jackson & charvels ranging from $800-$1700 this last few weeks, and they are cool, yet don't hang with even a pimple on the edge of the Ibanez stuff in craftsmanship, consistancy, features and performance. Some are exciting in the looks department, yet no soul when the A/B test is performed.
Ibanez rule the hot rod land!

Re: 2005 NAMM Report
Nice to see you got pics of yourself with the best guitarist in the world! That would be
Ron Thal
for you ignorant ones.
The
monkey grip
looks weird from an angle, the inside looks unfinished, as in not fully done... Why is that? One can only ask.

Re: 2005 NAMM Report
The more I see the mirrow Jem....the more I think it needs mirror vine and mirror head.
That neck and headstock look soooo dull compaired to rest of guitar.
And for $3000 you would expect that.....
JS looks less shiny then original
Chrome boy
. I like it though.

Re: 2005 NAMM Report
Nice pics Rich. I just got back from an extended vacation in Southern California due to a massive snowstorm in Boston that forced the airport to close. Hey, there are worse places to get stuck, right?
In any event I've got some JEM's, Giger's and JS2's coming along with a nice smattering of the entire Ibanez line for 2005. For those that would like one I'd be more than happy to order one of the PRS doubleneck Dragon's as well. And, $40K is the list price. My discounted price will be a bit lower than this!!

Re: 2005 NAMM Report
I am a Player and I just can't afford a Jem. Besides I have my own identity as a musician. I'm not Steve Vai. I don't play like him. I respect him and
Joe Satriani
ALOT!!!! but I don't want to have their guitars. I feel the same way about all signature guitars. That said I don't mind (translate to really need) having a guitar that will do some of the things the guitars they play are capable of. I've always really liked the Rg550 with the
maple fretboard
, but just when i get a little money aside and an excuse to buy one they get discontinued in the us. As far as Rich goes, I've been to his site and while I just CAN NOT afford one of those axes you can't say he ever takes anyone for a loop. There are high res pics of everything including every ding and detailed descriptions of the conditions of the guitars including all mods, and functionality of everything. If you get a lemon you knew what you getting before you ordered it.

Dude, you left on Monday, you had an extended vacation BEFORE the snowstorm!!
>but just when i get a little money aside and an excuse to buy one they get discontinued in the us
No loops, just Fruit Loops
You can still get 1550's in Japan.

Re: 2005 NAMM Report
No idea what itchycrotchy is charging, I can't even understand their website anymore. My cost on one is $881 inhand uncased [I've got a buyer I have to pay 10% to, and that cost is without payment fees]
