I hope the headstock is mirrored, too. Ibanez has always been good about putting matching headstocks on Jems, so hopefully this is no exception.

By the way, we are just asuming it will only be 100 bucks more than the 7vsbl, it could be less than that, or it could be much more.

If the mirror effect is achieved in a similar way as the mirrored pickguards are, then the mirrored finish is probably very cheap to do. Im speculating here since I dont have the details.

But since you can hear steve talk about how much money he makes with the jem series, then you do the math.

Im sorry, I love you Steve, but I cant pay your bills and Hoshinos, by paying 3000USD for a guitar thats cheaper to make than a RG3120 (may be thats why they dont make the 3120 anymore). I gues I can contribute to his well earned fortune by buying his records and DVDs, and I can continue to make Mr Hoshino richer by buying the few Ibanez guitars that offer a decent value.

I would love to be proven wrong and see this guitar with better features, or with a more reasonable price tag.

hmmm...Just thinking, what could be the "hidden" features that will put this guitar in 3000$ and up class???

The one on the picture looks like a 7D with a mirror job that you can get for a £170...

The chrome whine would be awesome, chromed pup bobbins too...

I think there's already plenty of "chrome whine" in this thread!

Guys, don't get so worked up about a guitar that hasn't been released yet. It's only a few weeks away... we'll know all soon enough.

from the frontpage
» JEM7DBK $1,729.99 (was $1599.99 list)
» JEM7VSBL $2,759.99 (was $2499.99 list)
» JEM7VWH $2,659.99 (was $2399.99 list)

I am expecting it to be about $350-500 more than VWH list which amazingly is about $100 less than double what the list price of a DBK was a year ago in the USA. Time will tell... glen

UK jemsiters, you could always buy a used Jem7 or something and get this guy on ebay to chrome it. I can't get the URL to work, but you just go to [n]uk ebay link removed[/bl] click electric guitars, ibanez and his chroming/carbon fibre services are at the top of the page.
His example looks pretty cool I think. You could always get SIMS to do some work on the inlays as well and fit a sustainer while your at it and voila! Your own bad horsie.

[edit - no ebay links/ads please... jemsite]

You dont need to chrome the guitar to make it mirrored on the front. You can probably get away with a mirrored film (just like the one the mirrored pickguards have) over the front of the body and the aply the clearcoat. That would be a lot cheaper; maybe thats the way Ibanez made it happen.

lol, wouldn't surprise me. It's not hard to make a guitar look super special (e.g. mirrored front) and then big it up as if it is a hugely expensive process. That said, they have had difficulties getting the finish right so they will probably pass that cost on to the customer, hence the expense. Still doesn't seem right for a guitar above the 7V pricing not to have a pretty chrome vine in it but what can you do eh?
