quality is the most important.. if the guitars maintain the same MIJ quality they could be made even in mars.

IMO we are fans of MIJ Ibanez like Fender or Jackson fans are of USA made models. MIJ still means something to us. I'm not gonna put down MIK, just purchased my 3rd in a year, I just know I prefer the MIJ models.

Ibanez could make them in Korea if they want, but please stop using that crap hardware. I stick with MIJ because I get real Gotoh parts.

Amen. I just bought a MIK hard tail but personally wouldn't touch any tremmed RGs from anywhere other than MIJ for that reason alone.

Re: Ibanez Made in Japan (MIJ) to continue from Fujigen factory

let's think about that:
For a market production detail: is the 'EDGE Pro' production toooo much pricey than a EDGE Pro II or EDGE III production?
WHAT IF Ibanez releases a RG370DX Made in Korea, or even in Indonesia, just using the Edge Pro, aside the crapy EDGE III?

I really think it would sell TONS and MEGATONS!

(sorry, my english sucked today).

One of the biggest reasons I don't even consider the MIK or MII tremmed RG's is the hardware so it is not really out of line to say you are right on some levels TG, IMHO. They frets and other small details would have to improve to, but your point is well taken.

unfortunately the MIJ EdgePro has been replaced on most models (JC included) by the EdgeZero, which is...

unfortunately, it would have to cost a lot more. the edge pro is a better trem unit (and thus, more expensive) and in order to have the mij edge pro on mik guitars, there would have to be additional shipping involved. figure the difference in price between an ep and an e3 would be (at cost) probably ten bucks or so, and the price to ship one tremolo unit (again, at cost) would probably amount to a dollar or so. in ibanez terms, they'd be cranking out tens of thousands of these guitars, so at the end of a production run of 50,000 units, you've got an additional cost to the company of 550,000 dollars. this cost would have to be thusly offset in the final price, which would probably end up almost doubling the price of the guitar.

at least, that's how i see it.

i'm not happy about it, but i understand.

Re: Ibanez Made in Japan (MIJ) to continue from Fujigen factory

so, since Ibanez is switching guitar production from Japan to somewhere else in Asia, why not make a HUGE production of the nice EDGE PRO in those cheapo markets?

The maple wood is diferent from MIJ than MIK or MII?
The basswood is the same?

The machinery that makes/construct an EDGE III is the same that makes the EDGE PRO, IMHO.

Re: Ibanez Made in Japan (MIJ) to continue from Fujigen factory

These are very good questions.. mr Shark!!!!

if some specific jem that i dont dare pronouce the name , just to dont hurt some rich gentleman, was produced with edge pro?
the evos arent the same, the basswood and the maple aren't the same?

once again a say.. no matter if is MIJ, MIK MIH( made in hell) MID ( made in disneyland). what matters is good quality, in wood and hardware at a resonable price!!!
