Re: Js2prm
JTM45 I think you are over reacting a little (go grab that RGT2020SOL and cheer up).The thread is getting completely off topic.
Any news about the way the finish is applied? Someone mention they "outsource" the finish. Is this a fact?
Why would Ibanez distribute so many to the US and left so few for europe (considering some other will go for the rest of the world)?
They probably can charge more in europe than in the US.

Re: Js2prm
Just for the record, so hopefully this won't come off as an outburst, he was getting laid into pretty heavy in some other thread right after he joined. Some of it was evidently due to posting style, 15 !!!!!'s followed by an I, the normal extremely difficult to read crap. I metioned it, he took offense. I started ignoring anything he says. I type "ignored", blasting retort, ignored, blasting retort, then a seething personal attacking retort, all for being ignored. Jeez, whatdaya get if you actually pay attention?!

But, I have to admit that the 2005 line up is pretty strong, with a lot of interesting models.
The 2005 line-up is pretty interesting. Love the new laminated necks, love the new chrome pickguard covered Jem....love the RGT320....love the RG1527....all great guitars I wouldn't mind owning.....
Bit worried about the Korean/China move......bit confused about the J-Custom/Prestige differences.....and with Japanese factory on the burge of closing...wouldn't mind seeing
USA Custom shop
open again and/or being able to buy Japanese J-customs......and maybe some more limited versions of some nice 7 or 8 strings (new K7 and Meshuggah customs, e.g.) Ibanez did start this whole 7 string craze thing.....

IMHO This year line up is great, although the pricing sucks.

Curious about that this finish too. Is it chrome or polished aluminum???
What is body made out of? Basswood again, or that Luthite acrylic stuff.
And if outside company is taking care of this for them (which I suspect) this means the process can be copied. Cause with JS 1000, a $0.15
toggle switch
and old chrome Edge trem we can do some wonders.

Re: Js2prm
From Rich's 2005 NAMM report:
"The
basswood body
is covered in aluminum which should prove to be a much more durable finish than all previous "chromeboy" attempts."
I would also imagine that the finish is outsourced.

Re: Js2prm
Since it's such a limited piece, it won't be listed in the catalog.

Re: Js2prm
It's nice to see another "limited edition JS" that the average "Joe" like me could never possibly afford......I wish I had bought a white one when they were still available...what a beautiful yet simple finish.

Re: Js2prm
The 1000WH's looked terrible with the cosmo, they should have put chrome on them, they'd probably still be selling.

Re: Js2prm
That is a problem actually. I don't mind the

much but the Black hardware is wierd....

For some reason (let's see... could it be the all-white layout) that one always reminded me of the
Crystal Planet
cover shot, even though it was clearly a chrome Joe was holding. If I was to buy a JS today, it'd be a tossup between that and the red 1200, largely for thatr mental association.
