Re: Js2prm
Looks like "PRM" would mean "Premium Rock Mirror" maybe?
According to Ibanez.com:
"...the new JS2PRM Joe Satriani Signature Premium ultra-limited edition model. Features include Special Premimum aluminum finish, 1 pc maple neck,
basswood body
,
DiMarzio PAF Joe
and FRED pickups, the original Edge tremolo, and an additional phase switch. $5329.99 United States price also include Premium finish flight case and matching finish guitar stand."

Re: Js2prm
I saw the update on your NAMM report regarding the finish...not very encouraging. It might take them 5 years to make 60....now we know why it is "ultra-limited".

Re: Js2prm
not the only rock mirror guitar to have problems by the sound of it. i'm hearing the Jem is also suffering for the old problem of cracking/delaminating on the forearm angle.
may just be a sales rumor, but it did come from a 'real' source.

Heh, you'd think that for US$5300 they'd be able to pull that one off without any problems, right?

I wrote the original in my rush in Annaheim. After I got home I realized that was a dumb assesment considerring what Mike had told me. Presuming the guitars ARE the same as what Joe is playing, finish wise anyway.

Re: Js2prm
Joe's guitar has always been Basswood, excepting the JS6 and his JS 7-string, so I can't see how they'd go back to it?

Re: Js2prm
I'm pretty sure Joe has at least one JS10th
You can add that to the list of "Joe's guitars that are not basswood".
I think he probably meant why'd they go back to basswood from Luthite, which is what the last shiny JS was.

Re: Js2prm
All this doesn't discourage me, I'm buying one as a collectors piece
What's with the matching finish guitar stand? I have a bunch of chrome finished stands! And, who's going to put one of these in a stand anyway???
