it's more confusing because to advertise "raffle" would be inappropriate.

you pay and youre entered. you have 96 posts and your "essay" is submitted... glen

I've bought guitars elsewhere, and I've bought guitars from Rich. No comparison. Sure, there are other good techs out there. But you'd be *hard pressed* to find another who puts the service into the guitar and the sale the Rich does for the $. I also haven't found anyone nearly who knows about these particular guitars either. Sorry to stray off-topic.

I don't understand why the "essay" deal confused anybody.

I don't understand this "people don't like BRMRs" thing. I mean, I don't either, but the rules say that you can pick a VWH or a UV instead.

Ignore him, he's clueless. I wrote him privately about his constant slagging and his reply was that he didn't think I spent more that 2 hours on a whole guitar and that I "was either lying about the 6 hours it takes or that I must be the slowest tech in the world". I replied to him that you can't do a good fret level, crown, ball ends, and mirror polish alone in under 2 hours, and that depending on how much crowning it needs is closer to 3 hours, and directed him to my "setup" page, to which I got no reply. Yet, he continues to slag me at every oportunity he gets. I guess it's time to just start slagging back.

I've got to vouch for Rich here, my PGM301 was sweet as an F'n nut.

Yeah there are other guys, but that doesn't mean the guy doesn't put the time and effort in, and I'll tell you, it pays off big time.

(BTW Rich about that PGM90.... lol)

I just figured out who you are!

By F'n nut I assume you're referring to me having to replace your factory nut because the string alignment was cut offset 1mm towards the bass side [actually, my fault for not catching that on inspection but string alignment I check at the end of the fretboard, you never expect the nut to be that screwed up!]

I'll be doing some guitar listing next week, I promise!

Go for it. You're fun to watch!

I'm pretty happy with the set up (now) on the 8670 I bought from Ishi, but dang! I wish you'd done the frets!

Lmao!

"Sweet as a nut" over here means perfect as you can get, just local slang.

Just so happens the nut on that guitar had to be replaced! lol

Hehe, nut confusion

You could have shipped it down. I'll entertain for free, but the work will cost you a fair wage

As I told you Rich, I don't know your setups rule because I have no personal experience with any of your work. That said, I find it highly doubtful that there's a giant leap in quality from you to the next (great) tech when it comes to setups.

Re: Win A New JEM7BRMR March 2006 Forum Member Writing Competition #2*

That explains why you told me you think I only spend 2 hours at most on these guitars and am lying about the 6 they do take?

And be my guest to get a quote on all the work shown on my setup page from any [great] guitar tech to see how long the work would take.

I've never claimed to be better than any [great] guitar tech, but I don't see any of them working in Ibaenz dealers including their work on your brand new [or used] guitars either.

Okay so Rich doesn't need me to defend him here BUT, I've brought a few guitars from Rich and I can honestly say that I have never had a set-up done as well anywhere else. Plus Rich is honest to a fault, if he says it takes him six hours, then I for one believe him.

Okay Rich, now please remember to waive that $250 Haggling Fee next time I buy a guitar

Re: Win A New JEM7BRMR March 2006 Forum Member Writing Competition #2*

Been away for a while waiting for my new optic fibre PC connection to be sorted, still not done but i've found some time at work to write.

Can't believe people are still whingeing about stuff that was made clear from the off, by which i mean the guitar you will recieve and where it's gonna come from.

I for one WILL be choosing the BRMR coz i already own a VWH and have a 7 string on the way. The only problem i have with the guitars is their price, and this ones almost free for christs sake.

As for where it is coming from, i couldn't give a rats ass (with obvious exceptions) and as Rich says, other vendors really should be in on the action since they invest in this fine site. The guitars FREE and these are all mninor quibbles when it comes down to the oppurtunity to win an awesome guitar. And anyway, thanks to Rich's awesome site and great tutorials on set ups, i've become a dab hand at doing them myself, and even set up my mates guitars now.

Anyways, looking forward to the contest getting under way, and i'd be well up for a $100 ticket. Bloody hope i win this time though.
