Ok, late post, but my point about Rich wasn't that he's some superhuman tech god, but rather that your guitar comes out of the box having been profesionally set up, instead of needing to go to a tech when you get it. That is a big bonus.

As for the BRMR and being able to substitute it, the statement that you can do that is 1/2 way down the page. The average person who doesn't want a BRMR will click the link, see the big 'Win a BRMR' at the top of the page, and go 'meh, not my cup of tea' and move on.

Personally, if I win it I'm getting the UV

I think the BRMR looks cool and all, but I have to say that the Vai show I saw last year was the only concert I ever came out of deaf AND blind! Every time he'd shift the guitar a certain way, it'd catch the lights and DAMN!!! If he's still playing that thing next time I see him, I'm takin' sunglasses in with me!! I much prefer the 7VWH anyway, because to me, it ain't a real JEM without the vine. (I know, some people will kill me for saying that, but it's just my preference )
