Re: Win A New Jem7vwh - Forum Member Only Writing Competition STARTS FEB 7 @ 8pm
I think the problem is due to using Paypal. For some people they may not want to simply use it. I think a good idea for a next raffle would to have everyone send a money order and make it a postal money order so a bunch of bizzare ass money orders dont come. This eliminates any kind of security issues and limitations posed by transfering money via the internet. I really believe that the response would be overwhelming. The only problem I see with this, is the different times the money orders would arrive. To resolve this, a week could be set that would be the only week the money orders would be accepted, or give a reasonable amount of time for entries. It could be worked out if discussed.
Just a thought.

Re: Win A New Jem7vwh - Forum Member Only Writing Competition STARTS FEB 7 @ 8pm
8 people isnt nothing to sweat at, people are getting excited cause the time is near..
Most didnt think this would work at all and would take at least a month or two to get the people. This took a week and a few hours to be 90% of the way there.
Paypal isnt the problem, impatience is becomming the problem LOL trust me im just as excited as the next guy but lets just let it take its course and the other 8 will show.

Nope, I disagree completely, I think Paypal is the only way to go.
If people won't just click a link to pay, what makes you think they will actually leave their house to get a money order and worry about sending it and so on.

Re: Win A New Jem7vwh - Forum Member Only Writing Competition STARTS FEB 7 @ 8pm
there we go see, now we need 7
Paypal is the only way to go, its instant. No whining or complaining its in the mail etc.
Just let this run its course, I mean heck I went 10 years with out a jem, im sure I can wait till the others sign up to hopefully win one.
Patience is a virtue.. Were nearing the end its just a matter of time to get a few more. No need to spam, no need to send PMs, no need to offer other alternatives. Just be patient.

Thats a good point.
What I wrote wasnt meant to be about being impatient. Im just glad were actually doing this. Of course everyone is going to be exited about the first trial too. I just put it out there to see what everyone thought.

i agree too......for soething online like this.paypal or similar is the way to go.....
and i think the odds of 125 is about the limit.......if you where to make it at the 10 dollar per entry.......we probably would be waiting forever........i think the 30 dollar entry would be even better

Re: Win A New Jem7vwh - Forum Member Only Writing Competition STARTS FEB 7 @ 8pm
I'm also well up for $30 entries.
However, the $20 raffle has exceeded my expectations in terms of how quickly entries have come in. We're a little over a week down the track and we only need 8 people. That's pretty good.
Don't forget, no matter how good the odds, the majority of us are as good as giving away $20 and to some that is a lot of money to just give up.
Patience and we shall prevail.
As for money orders, i wouldn't even bother with that option from here. Much more hassle than it's worth. With Paypal anybody (more or less) can enter.

How about a $25 fee next time.
100 entries will fetch $2500.

I say Kenny should get back there on his computer and issue refunds to everyone that entered, then we can RE-ENTER a $25.00 submission to the writing contest and get this thing moving forward
Of course I'm only kidding.
Well, not really......yes, yes I'm kidding

Re: Win A New Jem7vwh - Forum Member Only Writing Competition STARTS FEB 7 @ 8pm
how about we stop asking questions/complaining/suggesting and let this run its course.
OR THERE PROBABLY WONT BE A NEXT TIME...
It clearly says within two months people will be allowed to purchase/enter there writing entry in..
Its been a week and a couple days..
Im going out on a limb here but im pretty sure Kenny/Glen are getting sick of seeing these posts.. Lets not ruin a good thing by tryin to rush or figure a way to get it over faster.
My 2 cents..
P.S. Trust me im just as excited as anyone. But lets just remain civilized and patient where else are you going to get this oppurtunity.
