Hi fwd, thanks for the speedy reply, so far I've been able to successfully get great lead tones using only the Boss MT-2 model, a little EQ and some really good reference tones. Additionally, I've tweaked some Vai-ish and Gilbert-ish tones, plus a little Malmsteen, with some success (I am especially thrilled with my Paul Gilbert patch, because it cleans up so well, but when you overdrive it, it just gets nice and scrappy Gilberto style
) but lately I've been trying to get some serious Petrucci style sounds that could be used to play with my band. So far I've got the "Pull Me Under" clean intro down, but I'm having trouble programming the rhythm and lead patches. I've been able to come close to the lead tone, but for some reason I couldn't approach the smoothness of his pick attack. I'm using primarily RGs, one with an Evo set, the other with a Breed+Air Norton combination, plus another no name guitar with low-output humbuckers. I hope you could help me on this, thanks again.
