Hello from Australia
Here are the first pics online of my new guitar taken as I played it on the steps of the Sydney Opera House last week Dec 18th.
Thanks to Brian for all his help in making this one!
Thanks also to Kevan, Chris C, and lots of other people for various parts!

It is a Jem77BMC (blue multicolour)

ATD swirl by Darren Johansen
Herc Fede three colour pyramid inlay
Head stock says 'Ibanez Simon Wilkins'
Mahogany body made by Charles Elliot, a friend of Brian Calvert

Dimarzio pickups
Steve's special in the bridge
Air norton in the neck
HS2 in middle

Wizard neck, rosewood fretboard (RG neck)

All other parts Dimarzio or Ibanez derived.

let me know what you think!

Best wishes

Simon in Australia
ps more pics to come when I get back to England

Man! That's gorgeous! (But I'd take a 10th over it anyday, sorry!)

I actually wondered about that combination (a blue multi) a long time ago, after seeing my first GMCs.

So, now the questions:

1: How many shades are in that swirl?

and

2: What shades would those be? It looks like white, black and various blue shades in between. More details, please!

Thanks for all the great comments guys!

Close up pics will appear next week when I am back in England. I land in London next week 8th Jan.

Cost break down will also be posted then when I can check properly at home!

The Converse are standard "Chuck Taylor's" (bought in Boston btw) that I painted myself with a design borrowed from EVH!
BTW his also have a couple of black lines as well as the white.

Swirl details
White is the base coat that the swirl goes on.
I asked Darren for (and sent him the colours):
Very dark blue
Medium darkness blue
Another blue
Pastel very light blue

no black!

I think Darren may have added another so there are five blues in there.

The guitar has no serial number (natch) and I forgot to mention the hardware is cosmo black (new from Ibanez UK).

Who is Jeff Spicoli?

Thanks again for the great comments everybody :)

Did I mention the body is mahogany? ;)

best wishes and happy new year

Congrats on the new axe, mate !

And happy new year, I hope the hangover is not too serious : repeat after me : EADGBE. I hope you still can play !

I have to say that I'm quite impressed by this swirl, definitely one of the nicest I've ever seen... (and yes, the shoes are impressive too !)

If you have a little time, go and check the "other guitars" forum, I have a new baby too ! I hope we'll meet again soon, so that we can see the guitars "in the flesh" (one of the expressions I've learned at Jemfest UK...)

See you soon, and have a nice trip back ! (and please, don't let them put this guitar far from you during the flight !!!)

The Swirl is wicked. The blue sparkle jem should have had those inlays.

The company my Dad works for has their offices in the blue mirrored Axa building (47th floor) on the harbour at the back of some of your pics.

I'll ask him if he saw anyone larking round with an Ibanez and Van Halen shoes!!
