I picked up this hot pink guitar at my local music store for 100 bucks. I believe its an ST-III from what I've found on the net. I thought it was interesting since it has a neck through design. It needs some work though. I'm looking for someone who may know a little more about what came on this guitar than I do. I want to replace the bridge and humbucker. I'd like it to be a versatile guitar despite looking totally 80s. Any info would be greatly appreciated. Thanks!
Well I'm on the fence here. I don't know whether I should drop 300 bucks on new parts for this guitar or cheap out and just make it work good enough for me. If I knew It was worth more then 400 bucks I'd be more comfortable with the investment.
Does anyone have any idea what an American Mid to late 80s BC Rich neck through guitar would be worth?
Well I've always wanted a Pink 80s metal guitar so there is that... I suppose I could always keep the stuff that I spent a lot on and use it on another guitar down the road if I should decide I don't like this guitar.
I'm too new of a member to add hyperlinks and photos yet. I'll post some as soon as I post 7 more comments. sorry.
I had my eye on an original black Floyd Rose tremolo from the 80s on ebay and I just won it today for 86 bucks so I have my fingers crossed that its not worn out.
bring the guitar to someone who is very knowledgeable. If i were you I would get seymour duncan blackouts on it and have a battery box installed in it and a gold floyd rose original. Maybe an on board toggle switch that adds gain or phase for the heck of it. Get it tuned up inotation, truss rod, string heigth Then it will play like god.
Its sounds like you'd probably hate me if you knew what kinda of music I intend to use this guitar for... (country)
I'm going to go with a vintage output GFS pickup or maybe their take on the Van Halen pickup if I can't find a better brand for a cheap price. It has a three way on-off-on switch for the bridge pickup so I plan on wiring it for series/parallel. A gold Bridge sounds cool but I'd have to replace all the hardware since its all black now. I know how to intonate it and set the truss rod. I just have to get the frets dressed. Thanks for your suggestions.
