Ok, you said that the Epiphone Goth Les Paul Studio Electric Guitar Black was good for jazz but not great for 'stratty' sounds. does that mean that I wouldn't be able to play rock, i.e. Green Day, All American Rejects, and AC/DC? this is assuming that I have a good amp
This guitar can definitely cover all of the bands you have listed. What I was saying was that you probably won't get David Gilmour/Mark Knopfler sounds out of this guitar unless you change pickups and/or split coils. You can definitely get the rock tones out of this guitar though--no problem!
You mean Fusion Jazz. When it comes to traditionalJazz, the full hollowbody archtop strung with flatwound 12's (or thicker) is the consensus when it comes to getting those thick woody Jazz tones...
