Hey everybody! I would like to share my very first jem (next to my universe).
(phone pictures srr)
The color is alot better and not so light in real life.
I'm real happy with it! and looks and sounds amazing!!!
The only thing that sounds a little weak are the paff pickups... but the wood and tone of the guitar itself make up for it
See now, THIS is the guitar I would keep in a case, untouched, forever. I LOVE the fade on the original pups, the neck looks like it's been well cared for all its life. Just a great find that shows its age with dignity.
Nice score!
I Love my SK-
I think I might like it better then my LNG.
It's nice to see another one in good shape, many of the pink JEMs were not taken care of.
Thxs guys! The guitar is in great shape yes.
But i heard that sunlight is bad for the color on this guitar. Does that alsow apply to light from lamps and such?
I've always found it funny that people like the faded pickups. The one thing I did when I "upgraded" to my current SK was swap the pickups from my old SK. The one I sold Sebastian got the more faded set. Unfortunate (at least to me) that they were faded, because I absolutely loved the sound I got out of them.
I think the SK and the FP (and maybe the BFP) Just look "right" when the pups are faded. For me, It's kind of like the patina on an old brass bell. Without it, it would just look "wrong"
Obviously you know that I have no problem "modernizing" something old, but some of these guitars look better with age.......IMO.
i've owned a very faded UV77PWH and i miss my baby so much
but i dug that faded pink dimarzios cuz they aren't faded orange, but faded light pink. (at least on the photos)
