Looking at the diagram for a 5 way switch on an HH configuration:

The only HH guitars I've played have had 3 way switches (neck humbucker, both humbuckers, or bridge humbucker).

What is parallel connected and how does it sound different from the normal way (series?)?

It basically sounds like a singlecoil. Very slightly more hollow than a single coil, so its great for funk type stuff.

I stumbled upon the sound in my S7320, I actually love it. Its GREAT for funk type stuff and some blues licks, and it doesn't lower the output like a split coil would, so its got a decent output and doesn't sound like total ****.
