not a bad looking ax if u ask me... but it has V1 and V2's instead of the popular V7 and V8 like my 1990 RG570BK has... of course it has the same S1 as the 90 model... i've only seen 1 other guitar like this, and it was from a dude in germany who was selling it on ebay... i'm wondering how common this guitar is
i know rg's r common lol just wondering how common a RG570FM is... i got my 90 RG570BK for 200 bux as well, tho it needs some new pickups and i wanna replace the neck with the ed roman petrucci style neck(god that guy is a prick tho lol)
yeah i had my eye on it one day, and then i forgot about it... about a year later i go back to the same pawn shop and its still there, and still the same price, so i figured i'll offer em half and see if they take it! and they did! i was shocked and excited at the same time
I'm curious about the date you give though. The V1 and V2's were not featured in 95 in the RG500 series. It also appears to have the old style neckjoint with a neckplate which went from the Japanese RGs in 1994.
The 95 catalogue shows the RG570FM replaced with the RG570CT which had gold hardware and wasn't available in the red finish yours has, it too had the V7 and V8 pickups.
I don't want to appear out of line, but I'm going to presume the serial number on this one reads something like F95xxxx which would actually make it an 89 year model. I'd be grateful if you could get back to me on this just for my own curiosity so see if my theory is on the right track
As to how common they are, well in truth, I think they're one of the rarer RGs along with guitars like the RG565. I think they're a bit of a "speciality" model and I personally haven't seen nearly as many RG570FMs as I've seen RG565s. Your milage may vary.
woah my bad i did some research on serial numbers and realized it reads F05... which is a 90 model... so yeah its a 90 but... my other RG570BK reads F30?? whats that one? 93?
