for metal maybe? but my band plays old school rock n roll acdc's, srv.. but id like the guitar to be fully capable of for metal without a need of a pickup swap and stay in standard tuning..
Iron Label is standard Indo while Premiums, I'm guessing, are better quality on average. I think standard Indo quality is fairly good and, IMO, a better value dollar for dollar. The fixed bridge S with the Dimarzios for $700 is probably the best deal I've seen from Ibanez in a while. It makes an old RG guy like me even consider getting an S.
Otherwise I'm willing to bet the same difference in quality between regular Indo and Premiums exist in the Iron Label to Premium comparison.
i see your point. had an s it was very comfortable that it makes the wizard II feels like a wizard I but i cant live with the body shape and the location of the input jack annoys me..
if you you where to pick between the two which one will you choose sir?

I don't think they are standard Premium spec, Ibanez make a point of saying the necks are like the old Wizards in thickness and shape. They are using what they call the Nitro Wizard spec.
Iron label sucks! I hated the sound even in the promotional video. Its like putting EMGs in Gios S series also sounds shallow. So, definitely Premium, I have one and I love it!
Only the S's have Dimarzios. All of the RG's are EMG which kind of sucks. They should have had an RG with Dimarzios and one with Seymour Duncans.
Just my opinion.
hi everyone!
thanks a million for your inputs on this thread.
i grab an s5470tks instead!
figured id grab a prestige i know i mentioned earlier in this thread that the s was not my type but when i saw this model i just couldnt let it loose for its price and condition. i have to look for a keeper and can hold its value.
If I was in the market for a new 6-string and lived in the Philippines I'd be looking at a 520D. Hell I might even import one if I can't shake off this gas.
Anyone know or try gutting the trem system out of a premium and replace it with an Edge Pro or original edge?
