I noticed that music123.com has the rg570 for only $369. They are also showing the replacement model(RG1570) to be only $559.
Here is my question. Is there a drastic difference between the Japanese 570 and the prestige 1570? Nobody probably has played the new guitar, but maybe you know the quality differences between other prestige models and the RG570. $369 seems hard to pass up for a guitar that is usually $200 more than that. I know the trems are different too, but the Pups are the same.
the rg570 would be a better buy, obviously for a few hundred discounted. they have a proven track record. Still, they would be a lesser guitar than the prestige model replacement. it's up to your budget to determine if that few hundred extra will matter, or not... glen
Thanks. I would be willing to pay the extra $200 if the fret work was that much better. But if the fretwork is about the same then I would go with the 570.
it should be alot better. as good as the rg 5xx's were for the $$$, the fretwork left alot to be desired. none of us has good playtime on the 1570 cause they're not shipping into the USA yet. Last i heard they were doing some tweaks to the trem and are expected springtime.
If the $200 is not crucial, it's a nobrainer to get the 1570. if $ is tight then you're getting a NEW 570 at the price of a used one (albiet from vendor that merely relabels the box and ships it with zero setup, etc)... glen
I'd have to play the two side by side to see how different the necks/frets felt...that could be the deciding factor. The 570 is a great value...pop in Dimarzios and buy a nice hardshell, and you're still under the 1570 in price.

Glen means that they get the guitarshipped to their warehouse relabel the shipping information and send it to the customer without checking the instrument out, ie set-up. At least that is what I think he is inferring...later, Tobe
That makes sense. that must really reduce their costs.
