I'm thinking of refinishing a guitar with a material finish. What I want to know is:

Is it possible to do a good job with a brush rather than shooting the finish. I would just sand in-between each of the coats? Also, I'm only planning on doing the front since this is a neck-thru.

Any suggestions, or should I just have someone do it for me?

Thanx,
Peter

Yes, it is posible..but you have to spread the coats even and have to sand alot to be sure that you don´t have some "depth" or "channel" spots

You start with a 300 for the first part of the sealent part and slowly, while you are geting thicker coats of it..move up on 400, 600..then put the clear and work from 400 grit up until you reach 1200-1500 and your done..

Sound more easy than actually is ..but can be done..all you need is patience..

I´m working in a yamaha RGX110 with a fabric and using this method have been very slow..but i wanna do it right..when i get this finished i put a picture..

hope this helps you

cheers
