A decent substitute would be the RG series. I prefer the older RG5xx and RG7xx myself but the new RG1570 and RG2550/2750 would also do well. Bear in mind that the Jem 7vwh is alder and most RG's are basswood so there will be a difference in tone. And if you desire the Jem77brmr well fear not since both the 77 and RG are basswood. But to answer your question an RG with the right pickups would be the best option. Joshua
For any guitar you get, remember to try it. If you know exactly the sound and the feel you want, then you can try other guitars that are recommended and get the exact sound and feel you want.
I'd play a bunch of RGs and Kramers and whatnot until you find the next best thing for you.
