rusty cooley is a god, but hes such a ****ing slut. this is about his 5th guitar company endorsement, and hes on his 3rd or 4th amp company (which, by the way, sucks at the moment. diamond amps or something and the tone is hella ***)

Dean guitars (and especially their headstocks) have to be the UGLIEST guitars i've seen in my whole life. I don't say they sound or play bad, i just say they are ridiculous looking. All is too "big", bad designed, tasteless.... a shame imo.
Dean guitars own! I think their endorsment roster speaks for itself now. Trivium moved over to Dean from Gibson. Zakk Wylde plays them alot now as well. They do make an awesome guitar though!

Looks are in the eye of the beholder. They have currently 4 different headstocks on their instruments. And especially the V's are sweet. And who cares what rusty cooley does.
I have never played Dean but they look really cool and I didn't like those 7-strings Cooley was using. And Ibanez wouldn't have made a Cooley signature or 8-string, just my guess but I'm pretty sure about that. I've heard that Ibanez isn't the most flexible company when it comes to making new signature models or co-operating with endorsers.
I have never really played Dean, but i like the fact that they DO take risks with their models -unlike our beloved ibanez-, i mean, wether you like the guitars or not (im talking about looks here) they always take risks and they never reproduce 1000000 times a model with minor changes (for example those damn RGs are so damn boring nowadays!!!), you get lot of variety!
It's nice to see a guitar company that TAKES RISKS! i think if they can make a guitar that plays just as or better than Cooley's Ibanez, its a very good change for him.
well taking in to consideration that most music stores wont carry 7 strings due to lack of sales, I highly doubt a 8 string is going to make it in a production/sales based world.
i think dean can give rusty more support and attention because they are a smaller guitar company , where as ibanez has players all over the world and i think they are a little understaffed in the American division . they only let thier top level guys have three custom guitars a year where as dean will take care of whatever you need .
i love my razorback , and i love the big size , i am a taller guy so a little guitar looks wierd on me .
i am totally excited about this , i hit the cut-a-way on my ibanez rg570 so a super cut-a-way will be very cool .
Ibanez better start making some 8 string models and be more versatile, like honestly im sure Rusty would have put his conklin aside if ibanez had an 8 string aswell. To tell you guys the truth i didnt think he was gonna stay long. And C.Thep is right, hes not over reacting, if ibanez just tried something different then maybe they would be doing alot better. I honestly dont know if im ever gonna get another ibanez. My next guitar is gonna be a leviathan because it looks UNIQUE its got 8 strings, and im sure ill get alot better service than ibanez. So in conclusion to my rant, ibanez should start getting more versatile since they dont have anything to lose..except the guitar players who endorse their products and make them money.
Yes, that custom Ibanez 7 above is really great looking. I wish this was a standard issue with the body, neck, and headstock binding.
