Hi, i was trying to find out if some duncan pups were similar to some gibson pups. I was looking at the Duncan sh-11, and wondered if it is similar to a gibson 57 classic or burstbucker. i guess i'm kind of looking for a good pup that has a nickel/chrome cover on it, because i really like that look, and i'm looking to replace stock pups on my epi sg-400.
So if you have any info on nice, covered pups, please let me know...thaks
In my Les Paul i have a pair of Seymour Duncan Alnico II Pro's and I love them. They sound amazing. But they're not covered... Maybe someone else knows if you can get them covered.
57 Classics are one of my top 3 pickups. Probably my favorite, but a set of them will probably be close to what your guitar is worth. You should be able to get Duncan to put covers on just about any humbuxkers they make, but with the upcharge you will probably be in the same price range as the 57 Classics.
