Is this too much for an RG550 project w/ case?

Well, I refinished an RFR once. Yes, it was a stupid move which I later regretted, but mine had been through gigging hell for a couple of years and I wanted a natural finish instead. Basswood just ends up looking crap, though! No grain, just boring looking wood. What the hell I was thinking, I have no idea. I guess I wasn't really thinking at all. Also, it just didn't click how rare they are. RFR was produced for one year only (1987). No other Ibanez guitar ever made features the Road Flare finish.

I'm happy to own an RG20th in RFR now.

basswood + heat gun + a lil tint = really nice RB or BSB style finishes...

plain clean yeah, its kinda bland...
