I fell asleep with my guitar next to me. My RG1527 was lying on top of my sheets. This morning I was a bit cold so I pulled on the sheets really hard and sent my guitar flying off the bed (terrible way to wake up).
guitar looks OK in general but I'm worried about it. What do I have to look for to make sure I didn't ruin it?
thanks happy holidays
If nothing has split, it isn't ruined. Check that the neck hasn't been knocked out of alignment - i.e. do the strings still run parallel with the side of the neck and over the pickups?
Damn, that's a crappy sound to wake up to! I am glad it is okay! It could have gone out of tune, you may want to check the neck, headstock, and neck pocket.

Thanks for your replies (you too Jimmy.. I live near Fairfax so I guess the sound woke you up).
I looked over the guitar following your advice. The alignment seems ok. There seems to be no problem. Neck pocket is OK and there are no cracks on then neck. Neck is snug in place. I loaded some backing tracks and jammed away. Guitar sounds fine. What a relief.
Macabre detail: the guitar actually flew and hit the wall, then it fell.
There are no marks on the guitar!
Here is my endorsement: "I am not a very good guitar player but I abuse my guitars and sleep with them. Ibanezes are built to last."
It's all good, I was just adding the spice to the thread. Well, at least now I won't have to send you a box of cleanex since the guitar is still in good shape.
So it was a one night guitar stand. Sleeping with your guitar and kicking her out of bed the next day . I hope it is okay though. That really is a terrible way to wake up.
