JEM777SK, alternate scale instrument. 26 frets.
This is a JEM77GMC prototype. Note one color pickups.
This is a JEM77GMC of sorts. Notice non-vine neck and swirled headstock.
This is a JEM777VBK with different colored pickups.
This is a JEM built for Vai finished with a custom graphic. Serial Number #883372
According to a UK magazine, "Bad Horsie was recorded on a JEM with a Rosewood Finger board and a natural finish Mahogany body" (The Guitarist 5/95, UK) This guitar is also pictured in the Sex and Religion Book! Interestingly it has a rosweood board with white pyramid inlays. This guitar is not the "Bad Horsie" guitar we've seen at G3 and Fire Garden shows which has a 7VWH neck (ebony board with pearloid vine) and Ash body.
This surfaced in magazines and the Alien Love Secret TAB book before the JEM7BSB was released. It is clearly a prototype. You can see that the final version has a rosewood neck and mirrorish-blue pickguard instead. It looks as if this neck had simple dots which were replaced by the screw head inlays.

Not that rare huh, look again. Notice the rosewood neck with colored pyramid inlays. There were never any JEM guitars available with this combination. The 7P had white pyramids remember. Production JEM77FPs have the green vine neck. What did Ibanez have some of these necks laying around the factory? Two different floral pattern JEMs with the pyramid neck are pictured in the SVGE Tab Book and here. Some old mags have these guitars pictured too.
This is a customized JEM777DY. It is featured on the cover of the "Steve Vai Guitar Extravaganza" tabbook. It looks as if simple glow in the dark astrology stars have been added to the pickguard and body. A cheap way to spruce up your bright yellow JEMs and be like Steve.
