It's a regular, mono, pedal, so you get standard 1/4" in and out. Power is from a 9V battery or standard mains adaptor. Use an adaptor, this thing eats batteries.
The Uber Metal has 3 distortion models, named Metal, Pulverize and Insane. In Metal mode, you can get some decent 80s metal sounds (i.e. quite processed-sounding) out of the pedal. But you didn't buy a pedal called the Uber Metal to play Poison, did you? Pulverize is a great modern metal tone and Insane is, well, insane. In the manual, Line 6 describe Insane as being an experiment to see just how much gain they could get out of a...

| Sound: |
The Uber Metal works best for me through a clean amp channel, so that it can do its thing without having an argument with your preamp. When I tried it out before buying, the shop assistant deliberately plugged it into a painfully clean Fender amp to show how much power it has.
As mentioned, in Metal mode the Uber Metal does vintage metal very nicely. It's not a warm pedal but it has great definition for your palm muted riffs.
In Pulverize or Insane, the Uber Metal comes into its own. It has no subtlety, this thing; the sound you get out is largely unrelated to the guitar (or its...
|
| Reliability: |
Like all of the Line 6 ToneCore pedals, the Uber Metal chassis is a heavy lump of cast metal which feels like it would survive anything. I wouldn't worry about packing a spare.
|
| Customer Support: |
I've never had to deal with Line 6 for any of the products I've owned. They have an extensive support section and customer forum on their website so I would imagine that any problems will be dealt with efficiently.
|
| Liked about it: |
- If you want the modern metal sound without the wall of Mesa amps, you should really check the Uber Metal out.
- Bombproof construction
- It's not just a one-trick pony, there's a lot of tonal variety on offer here
- A noise gate is essential, but you get one thrown in
- Reasonably priced
|
| Didn't like: |
- Fiddly controls
- For a distortion pedal, getting the sound you want can take a bit of tweaking, as the mid and scoop controls in particular are so interactive
- It's damned ugly

I got the EX1 expression pedal free when I purchased my M13. Until the 2.0 software update for the M13 I thought the EX1 was fine. It works great to control parameters on all the patches without any glitches. The big surprise was the inclusion of 8 wahs in the M13. Now I see that the EX1 does not feel like a conventional wah pedal. It controls the parameters of the wah perfectly but the pedal throw is just to long for a comfortable wah sweep.
|
| Sound: |
It's a controller so it generates no sound.
|
| Reliability: |
It's plastic so you might not want to pounce on it but otherwise it should hold up just fine.
|
| Customer Support: |
Line 6 customer support is one of the very best. No issues there.
|
| Liked about it: |
I like this to control parameters in my M13 and it works great. Smooth and predictable.
|
| Didn't like: |
My only complaint is that the throw is a little long for a really good wah controller.

I am using a combo of 7 string Ibanez Guitars and 6 string Ibanez Guitars, with Seymour Duncan Blackout pickups.
I play industrial and black metal.
The amp is great for various styles, but for my tastes, it does what I want very well and helps me improve my overall tone.
I had a pedalboard and tons of effects for live shows, but the HD147 replaced all of that, not only saving space, but set up time/
You have the option to select a head and cabinet, or mix them to find your sound.
The cleans are very crystal like and warm, the distortion is very well done, being defined, clear but filled...
|
| Reliability: |
I have used this with no backup on every show ever since I got it, my band is playing shows all over the city, the HD147 had proven to be reliable and in some cases, have no need to be mic'd up, as it is plenty loud.
|
| Customer Support: |
I have not needed them, but the website is very informative.
|
| Liked about it: |
Tons of effects.
Everything is adjustable and then some.
Can be used to record (as a Pod)
|
| Didn't like: |
Only 4 "favorite" preset buttons (8 would be awesome)
You NEED a shortboard or a longboard to take full advantage of it's abilities.
No LCD screen to show your current settings.

Hummmmmm.Well sound is this little guys middle name. With this program you get Gearbox, which is a stand alone program with a ton of amp and effect models. It leaves the imagination to only limit the possibilites, a true artist's tool. I discover new sounds all the time, and am amazed at the quality of the tone i get out of my cheap p.c. speakers, it's amazing man.
I have tube amps and gear, but this is my favorite sounds in a little box.The attached sound clip shows a riff from start to finish, as an example of how it is put together. The (instant drummers) would be expected to be lame and...

I love ,i mean i (love!!) this program .It is tone heaven, for only 100.00 you can fit a mile high gear setup in the space on your hard drive.Every stomp box, effect ,and tone that you ever heard is on this program . Line Six has done a great job on this, and should be awarded a (great achievment award) for this little program. I got so burned out on music until i found this.
I got it, installed it, and was playing guitar everyday for a month. It allows you to freestyle riffs ,and come back later to relearn them, and final mix them.
I have found this to aid me in getting all my stuff...

It really could be easier to install, although when you first get it there is a thing called Line 6 monkey, to aid in all the necessary updates and so on . I would download the monkey first, from the Line 6 website for sure, and then you can buy tones and effects . If you get this, get the Guitar Port Rifftracker, and then update it. Then go to the website and buy Gearbox Gold, for download and you'll have every thing you need to get started. If you do like i did, and buy Gearbox Gold in the box, you have to use the Toneport that comes with it, but it doesn't work as well with pc speakers as...

O.k. to start with, if you have line 6 rifftracker it comes with gearbox silver for free, and it is really good .But you are missing out on so many tones without the gold version. It has a whole world more stomp boxes ,amp models, and effects, and you get the entire Pod xt memory bank ,which is awesome.I found myself getting bored with music because of the tone i was looking for just wasn't there. I had so many nice guitars and amps but couldn't put my finger on what i wanted due to money limiations. Then i was hit right in the face when i found this . I played with it for days and then i...

I love the tone. It let me have so many effects, a football field would be required to store them, and would probably lose signal half way through the chain lol. I mean so many stomp boxes, amp models ,and so on.
Another thing is it's not just for guitar, it's for bass and vocals too .I know people think virtual amps are no good, but they are wrong. This is amazing tone and suprisingly not muddy or anything. You can use it with so many programs.
I only use Gearbox Gold with my Rifftracker, which comes with Riffworks, the recording program which is super easy to use.
I would recommend...

As i stated before, don't buy the box version if you have Rifftracker .Just download it form Line 6.com,which it wasn't even Line 6's fault. It warns you ,i just didn't see it till after the booboo. The box version doesn't have the easy hookups to the sound card like my Guitar Port, so thats why i wanted to keep the Guitar Port but use the Gearbox Gold Version ,which is only possible if you download it, because the box version has the plugin built in it.
I so wish it had the new whammy effect, like the spider 4 amp,you know, the octave thing with the pedal. I want a whammy so bad ,they got...

Wow--where to begin? I was always extremely against virtual instruments until a little over a year ago. One day I was browsing Amazon (of all places) and they had the Line6 DI-Silver bundle for 29.99--it included a DI that I dare say is a bit nicer than the GX, and the POD Farm software. I was literally blown away by the quality AND accuracy of the amp and effect models. The sounds are actually usable, so much so that I decided they would be my standard for sound clips on Jemsite (and they still are). The other things that I found so inviting about POD Farm is that you can do things with the...

| Liked about it: |
Extremely easy to use/intuitive interface.
Capable of sound combination that would be otherwise near impossible.
Models are extremely accurate and provide easily-usable tones.
|
| Didn't like: |
Model packs are tied to specific hardware interfaces--if you have two interfaces you have to purchase the model pack twice.
Unstable on certain versions of Windows.

| Ease Of Use: |
First and foremost, I'm not an effects geek. This is my second ever pedal following a Tubescreamer which I don't even touch the knobs on. I'm an everything at 12 o'clock guy when it comes to effects, because i don't really know enough about them to get all the weird and wonderful sounds from them.
This pedal looks to me to be a little daunting to start with, but within a few minutes I got to know which types of delay I do and don't like and how I like it. The 'TWEEK' and 'TWEAZE' knobs look a little vague at first, but they do different things depending on which setting you're on. All...

| Sound: |
Sound is perfect. Couldn't ask for more here, the analogue sounds like an analogue, the digital like digital, the 'mod' on some delays is a really nice touch. And all though this pedal is true bypass (one of the main selling points to me) it can be made analogue bypass so you can get the decays after you switch it off. I can get a nice 'Dual Head' Timmons type delay, or the really pronounced 'Pull Me Under' delays as well as a discreet echo in a nice Petrucci type sound. It doesn't add any noise, but then I use 30cm patch leads for my effects loop, this stays sat on the amp and I just turn...

Line 6 stuff is pretty sturdy. When nuclear war ends the earth, all that will remain are roaches and Line 6 gear. I work at the shop when I got this and we've never had any Line 6 returns.
|
| Customer Support: |
Pretty decent bunch of guys, but our shop buys loads of gear from them, so I'm not surprised.
|
| Liked about it: |
Sound is great, silent operation, built like a tank and it's true bypass! What more could you want?
|
| Didn't like: |
Sucks power like a mofo, so batteries are useless and the power supply is humungo, so don't try and daisy chain it on a pedal board. Aside from that, I'm yet to fault it.

POD Farm 2 is Line6's latest major update to their award-winning POD Farm software and the differences are readily apparent. Upon launching the POD Farm 2 software you'll immediately notice that more of the functions you previously jumped through menus and from screen-to-screen to adjust have been placed at your fingertips. An enhanced "stage view" puts more of the information about your sound into visual cues, such as the type of microphone model being used and its position. Also, no more split-screen when using dual mode--you can visually see your two signal chains in one screen....
|
| Liked about it: |
Updated interface provides more visual cues to what is going on behind the scenes.
Global Noise Gate provides instant noise reduction to new patches without having to add the GATE model.
New sounds are more clean, clear and crisp, and seem to have overall better definition.
|
| Didn't like: |
Patches are not backward-compatible, but makes sense given the difference in tones between models.
Some models seem to have "extra gain" added to them, making them seem less authentic.

When I was looking for a MIDI controller to use with virtual instruments the options were somewhat overwhelming. It seems everyone has an offering that has some special feature. Since I already had the Line6 DI-Silver and knew it was easy to use, I took a look at the KB37. It actually had everything I was looking for and more.
The KB37 is a 37-key Keyboard/Interface/MIDI controller all in one. It also provides extra Mic and Line inputs for routing and recording other outboard gear like another keyboard or drum machine. The KB37 not only acts as your interface for recording, but can control...

| Liked about it: |
Multi-function device takes up little real estate on the desk.
Comes with POD Farm--VERY easy-to-use and great-sounding modeling software.
Multiple I/O options allows for recording of multiple devices through the KB37. Extremely flexible device.

Made of plastic--gives off the impression of being "cheap" although I've had no functionality or reliability issues.

Now this cab comes from Line6, a company not really having any reputation in building cabs and at a higher price point. But it is meant for the spider valve amps, so it is a more classy product one might think.
However lacking a spider valve, I hooked it up to my standard amp setup of a Carvin V3 and a Mesa DualRec to abuse the cab totally.
Again this cab is no lightweight and the wood construction also seems very solid, so I have high hopes for the sound, lets dig into it shall we?
Clean Section:
Playing it clean, the sound is very well defined and has a good amount of bass. I found...
