Hello,

i have an ibanez RG1527 for around two years now.
lately the volume knob started being hard when i turned it
and suddenly one day it stuck.
i opend the back of the guitar and i noticed that when i applied much power
to the knob, it turned alongside with the electrics in the back of it.

What is the problem and what should i do for it?

Thanks in advance!

Yep that's the best thing to do.

Last year my 1527 volume pot was good then got stuck out of nothing and Its pups switch is starting to fail but I almost never change pups!
It really made me think about those electronic parts quality.
Shouldn't a Prestige model has better quality?

I have 4 esp LTD(chinese or indonesian?) for about 4 years ,I bought them because I play in some different cover bands and I needed cheaper guitars with different tunings, guess what?
In 4 years never had a problem with them and I play at least 2-3 gigs every week.
My 1527 NEVER left the house still its pot got stuck and pups switch is failing!

Like Elcid said just replace it.

Of course learn! Not everyone knows, or is confident enough to use a soldering iron.

Its not too difficult to learn though, just need to take your time and be careful.

I believe Ibanez had a run of dodgy pots in the factory at one point. A few of these sticky pot issues have come up since 2007.
