First: "routed" is the term for when you use a tool called a router to remove wood from the body of the guitar. And the specific routing that makes it either front or rear routed is for all of the electronics like the pickups and knobs.
Now. THIS is front routed. It is ugly to look at because there will be a pickguard over it so you'll never see it anyway.
THIS is rear routed. It is made to look nice and has a cover put over it. It leaves the front of the guitar looking nice and smooth.
