So this summer I finished up a custom Explorer that I had ordered as a quasi kit from China. There were some issues with it at 1st but after inspection I found out that I had sanded the nut at the improper angle. So after resanding the graph tec nut square, it plays like a dream. So for the details. They go as follows:
Mohogany body
w/white binding
Flamed maple veneer
Maple neck- bolt on
Maple headstock
w/ white binding
Ebony fingerboard
w/dot inlays & white binding
Medium jumbo frets
Wikinson locking tuners
ToM Style bridge
w/ string thru body
1 vol, 1 tone, 3 way toggle switch
(bridge, bridge/neck, neck)
DragonFire Quad Rails bridge pickup
Seymour Duncan 59 neck pickup
This my favorite guitar out of 9 guitars i own (4 Ibanez). I think this really says something to the potential some of these chinese manufacturers and a little hard work from an everyday Joe like me can bring to the table. I know its not as pretty as some of these custom shop pros build but its playability and sound is guarantee to blow people away. And all for about $300! Can you really go wrong?
