Sounds about right Brett. A beat up body can be overlooked, especially if the neck is in great shape. However, a beat up body AND a neck break is a tough sell. A lot of the value in old jems at the moment is in the collectors market, and sadly when the collectors lose interest the value drops.
You could get lucky and find someone with a VBK shaped hole in their collection which they're determined to fill. But if a beater with a good neck is going for 2k, it'd need to be a decent saving off that to convince me to take one with a neck break.
