HAHA!

What a great day! Today, i went to the local music store, and purchased a brand new 7vwh for myself! Beauty!

Asides for the semi-rough time I had with the employees, all of whom had a major attitude problem and seemed to be jealous that a guy so young looking was walking out with that guitar, I am proud to say this puppy is mine, and mine for good. And I deserve it, its been a long time since I've bought something for myself!

It needs to be set up as some employee tuned it to E flat, but it plays like a charm! I am so excited I can hardly type!

Believe it or not, the sky actually looks bluer and the flowers smell nicer today! :D

how do you go about getting insurance on a guitar?
I'm guessing here, seeing as the last time I was in Canada was when I was five, but if you check out various guitar magazines + the net, there should be several companies out there that specialise in insurance for musical instruments that are based in your area. I may be completely wrong, but I'm operating from logical thought here.

Lemme guess... Steve's Music on Queen Street? ;)

As far as insurance goes, get a specific rider added to your homeowner's or tenant's insurance for your household contents. If you have neither, you should reconsider that.

thanx for the advice darren, and guess what, it was Steve's.

Scuse my profanity, but they are nothing but a bunch of assholes there. never used to be like that, too bad.

Vai the god of sound, yes my friend, that guitar is now my jem, but i got it at the regular price, because I had it on lay away. See, they decided they wanted to void my layaway and put it back on the floor.

I basically slapped my receipt down and said there's no way in HELL I'm paying 400 bucks more when I have a document here saying I put it on layaway for the lesser price!

I have a bit of a problem tho, the guitar is not staying in tune as well as I'd hoped, seems to have a bit of a problem, not quite sure what to do.

I've followed the steps outlined here at jemsite and ibanezrules.com.

they only thing left to try is tightening the bridge a bit, but I'm not quite sure how to do it.

congrats Davester its a great feeling.

Don't worry about it not staying in tune. If it hasn't been played heaps and it was tuned to Eb then let it have a little while to settle into shape.

Just be patient with it, its ffffed when you rush a guitar set up and end up over tinkering.
Thanx everyone.

Dave, I'm not so sure its just the springs....I've really worked it in a lot the past few days (you can take it to the bank when I say alot  ), but there is just something strange.

I suspect I, like many unfortunate jem buyers of 2001 models may have incorrect trem posts (slightly big).

I've taken the issue up with rich in a thread in the tech section.
I'm a little nervous about it, the guitar seems a bit unstable.

i won't over tweak tho, probably get a pro to look at it. I'm pretty bad with the technicalities of a guitar.
