Changing a nut, squeeky bridge; questions.

Hey guys, just 2 questions.

I bought a locking nut off ebay to replace my current one which doesn't work properly, and I was wondering if swapping them is as easy as unscrewing the current one (bottom mounted) and putting on the new one. So, no glue or anything? How tight the new has to be?

My other question is about my bridge, when ever I do a whammy trick, my bridge makes that sound, like a rusty gate or something, I forgot what it's called. So, what do I lubricate and clean? And what do I used? WD-40?

Edit: ffs I posted an repair/mod question in the wrong forum again. If a mod could move it I'd appreciate it.
