You may or may not know that I picked up an early '92 Washburn N4 "Davies" a few weeks back, and a few "issues" are delaying it's big debut. So in the mean time I was fortunate enough to win another '91 "Davies" this morning.

Not only are the Stephens Davies built N4s rare enough, but this one has a one piece body, which is even more rare as it is believed Davies built less than 10 and Nuno Bettencourt was supposed to have snagged them all.

Now for the porn....

It's cool to see something different but it does not look that strong to me though depending on how it fits on or into the body I could be wrong. If you ever get around during a string change I would be interested in seeing how it fits in or onto the body.

Looks like it has total access thou. How is the profile to the neck?

very nice. i have a paduak and although it sounds great, the bridge seemed a little too microphonic. i had always heard a rumor that washburn originally was using the bill & becky L500 and somewhere down the line switched over to the bill lawrence usa version. i had an extra bill & becky one lying around, so i took the bridge out to confirm my suspicions...and lo and behold, i had a bill lawrence usa in there. don't get me wrong, it sounded decent, but the squealing was a bit too much. i put in the bill and becky L500 and honestly, the difference is night and day. it's not only no longer microphonic, but just sounds better. more harmonically alive, thicker...just ballsier in general. looking at the pickups up close, it's nearly impossible to tell the difference, except that the bill and becky blades are *slightly* thicker.

anyway, congrats :)
