Don't know much about this one, I own/have owned S470, S540 and RG models but this one is different than those. It presently has an EMG in the bridge, and IBZ USA single coils in the mid and neck position. 3 switches, but not sure if they are factory, small dot inlays in the neck. It hasn't obviously been refinished but I suppose it could have been.
Serial#: A700185 (on neckplate)
No other identifying numbers or text.
Sorry about the small pics, any info is much appreciated, thanks.
Interesting thing about yours is the control layout: it certainly has a tone pot like the 1987 model, but it looks like the 1988 model with an added tone pot considering the way the toggles and the volume pot line out. The EMG and IBZ/USA pickup combination is not stock obviously.
Thanks, Brambram. That 87 pic DOES look very similar to my guitar, interesting about the difference in the control layout. I will do some more searching for P-model info, cheers!
The chances are that tone pot is an added 25k Volume pot for the EMG. The EMG is low impedence and its very hard to connect Passive and active pickups together on the same pot. You get big Volume drops on the Passive side so that may be hoe they got round it.
Thanks crossbones, you may be right about that. The orientation of the switches on this guitar are a little different than about everything else I have found pictures of.
