Re: Announcement to Jemsite Members

You were never tasked by the new owners to do any updates, and that was when the main site died. When you were the site, the site was thriving, and you made sure it was current. I understand new passions and family have taken that time, but it doesn't change the fact, the main site is on a pacemaker.

Compelling? 9k guitars used to bring out more haters that were always the most vocal, you'd get major traffic flow just from the "regulars" talking them down than you would from any buyers. Still, barely a blip, forum, same pacemaker, battery, running low.

Absolutely. Post here if you want to lend a hand. Feedback is welcome.

As an FYI Keebali and i discussed a few weeks ago possible new ownership and while I haven't spoken to our new owners directly I'm quite optimistic in that VerticalScope has resources and is committed clearly to maintain and improve their assets of which Jemsite is a part of.

To Rich's point I will QB general direction that makes sense if our new owners want to proceed... I'm pretty well versed and presently facing similar issues with a non-profit that I volunteer in terms of website overhaul (getting people to go to the site for info as opposed to reaching out via email, etc.).

Putting ideas into motion is key but ideas are welcome. Thanks again... glen

Death is overrated in this discussion. I'm not saying your totally wrong but you sound like you have CTEs from watching too much NFL ....

People get tired of hating on Ibanez' desire to gouge customers with such collector tripe. Yawn... glen

Re: Announcement to Jemsite Members

Evidently the banners are working but my add blocker is killing them now where they were never affected under previous owners. And I can't figure out how, or even where, my add blocker control [or even where the program is!!].
Originally installed because ebay had slowed to such a crawl as pages would be "fixed" until the last add loaded, which could take 20 seconds most days, just to look at the item. It was so painful I finally broke down and installed an add blocker, I just have to figure out where it is and how to drag a control link onto my desktop!

Re: Announcement to Jemsite Members

Yea, that's why it's loaded, but with Keebali it never affected the banners, only now that ownership has changed which is why I didn't even consider it. I actually forget I have it on, and, hopefully it'll have a way to turn it off on specific sites, if I can find it

Re: Announcement to Jemsite Members

Keebali vs whomever.... the whitelist used by any any given adblock software changes regularly. Just whitelist any site you want to stay operational.

[rant]
Remember adblockers are a temporary solution to a huge problem (display ads served by 3rd parties mostly google that actually game google's pathetic system of rewarding/paying fraud more than legitimate content by collecting $$ from legit advertisers).

Re: Announcement to Jemsite Members

The funny thing is I enabled the add blocker again, which is definitely working [just checked my favorite free porn site!] but the banners are still present here. So I got my cake and got fat eating it too!
