Re: AVG Trojan Alert

My AVG reports nothing in that link but i'm using Google Chrome.
If you want to make sure that your pc is not infected with trojans, download and install "Trojan Killer" it's a free software.
It will scan your pc looking for trojans and will give you real time protection.

Re: AVG Trojan Alert

I was just reporting this to the admins. I have no Trojans, I have AVG, it blocks them.

Re: AVG Trojan Alert

^ Thanks for the report. If anyone notices it again can you click "more info" and "show details" then paste in the info.

The admins can better ascertain if it's a false-positive from a banner ad.

Rich from experience cleaning countless PCs the only way to know if you have Trojans is with a full-Malwarebytes scan. AVG is not adequate and worse than Windows 10 defender. Of course if you're using PC admin rights and click "ok/install" all bets are off where Malwarebytes is a PC-saver.

Re: AVG Trojan Alert

Malwarebytes is always on also, everything is on my PC, I keep it as clean as I know how, and AVG has always been fantastic for me. YMMV.

I just wanted to bring this to the attention of anybody that needed to know behind the curtain.

Re: AVG Trojan Alert

I don't know if related, but by proximity it definitely seems to be.

The fake Zeus Virus malware pop up just tried to shake me down. I ran Malwarebytes and it finds nothing on my PC.

Re: AVG Trojan Alert

Clear your browser cache, do a disk cleanup and disable browser plug-ins not from very reliable sources. Adblock when surfing around. See if happens again.

Re: AVG Trojan Alert

If it was IE I'd know how to do all that, except know which add on is safe or not, but in Firefox I'm lost.

in Firefox: type

in the URL bar and go there. Then click "Clear Recent History" and check the cache box.

Browser Plug-ins can be turned on or off in:

EDIT: Damn emoticons, that's supposed to be about: preferences but without the space.

Re: AVG Trojan Alert

I pasted that into the url and it took me to google.

History has it's own tab to clear, cache i found under options and cleared them both. Hopefully those are the right ones.

Re: AVG Trojan Alert

Got it, it's one of the boxes in clear history. I'd say I'm clear now FWTW.

Re: AVG Trojan Alert

When these pop up and you run your scan that turns up nothing, these are false-positive (bad) ads and we need to get these removed. As jemsite mentioned (thank you) it it appears again, can you click "more info" and "show details" then paste in the info. Do you best to capture the URL of this pop up like the screenshot above, and let us know what device/browser you are using so we can pass this along to our techs for a more effective removal.

Thanks for your patience and understanding.

Cheers,
Natalie
