Thank god for the forums though!
Why be afraid to say it? Clearly any front-end overhaul would begin from there.

Likewise an Ibanez dealer selling 100% on the web would be expected to have tons of good info right? Drives sales & lowers customer inquiries. Especially when selling limited axes often at near list price with almost zero advertising costs (and no storefront)!

Apples vs oranges

I guess i'm curious why anyone would expect jemsite or any other non-retailer to have info & resources beyond what dealers, Ibanez and steve vai present to THEIR customers? We are long past web 1.0 where the world wide web is for free info exchange.

List price?! Zero advertising?! [way overpaying for this banner that's for sure]. Must be ASSuptions of course.

Ibanez wiki has the best resource right now purely for model information.

I was going to say Ibanez Wiki is pretty good.
Speaking of Wiki why not just s-can all the old pages and get user-generated content? That's what the gallery is anyway, right? Maybe let people submit blogs about their favorite axes and gear? Like a more informal version of reviews?
Just an idea. I know there's already sites like that but this is THE Jemsite, right?

Re: Colors are too neon

Ibanez wiki is great ... plus when you post something useful here it's on there sometimes within hours

Mike what you are saying is spot on...

step 1 is past due. remove dead links & content while providing a simple & effective front-end that is responsive for phone & PC. this really should happen soon.

step 2. behind the scenes determine/tweak backend software then build/update content.

Re: Colors are too neon

FYI jemsite.com now redirects to a streamlined frontpage (content managment system based on vBulletin). It's work in progress but the immediate goals are...

1. Instantly load on PC & mobile
2. Usable & visible on PC & mobile
3. Surface useful & relevant info on the frontpage*

Mobile themes were tweaked a bit for read/usability & consistency. Shopping & reviews are under repair.

Re: Colors are too neon

Just get rid of the green and pink and go back to the original colors and that will be the end of it

Re: Colors are too neon

One other suggestion is alternating row colors or a dividing line in between rows. If i go to click on the latest post in a thread (i.e. in the "Last Post" column) i'm having difficulty matching it up to the thread name to the left. I don't remember how the old theme looked with respect to this, but I don't remember ever having this problem until the color changes.
