I would like to propose to do some jams, maybe in a separate forum if there's enough interest (Admins, is that possible?)
The general idea would be the following:
-> players can share a backing track and their own jam over that track and other players participate and share their jams too. Usually the scales and the chords of the piece are indicated in the post.
-> A constructive approach is maintained at all times. No bashing. If you have nothing constructive to say about a fellow player's performance, keep it to yourself.
-> Any player of any level may partake and everybody is in fact encouraged to do so.
-> one can share either a video or only the sound. Obviously, one only participates in pieces that suit one. I tend to pick the pieces I dislike or find hard and challenge myself to come up with something decent. The whole jamming thing is about fun and improving your skills while at it.
-> the whole approach is "loose collaboration", meaning there's nobody "in charge". Guitarists are usually people with strong egos, so let's keep the possible frictions minimal.
-> Once this gets going, we can do additional stuff. On guitarristas.info, for example, we just compiled a video with 15 popular Spanish rock solos by several members and published it on the YT channel of that site.
If you would be interest in participating in these jams, just reply with +1 and if you have additional proposals in this matter, that would be even better
We'll come back to this proposal when we have enough data about its feasibility.
