No Allowed to Add a Signature

Ever since the forum upgrade, I've had this Setup Progress box at the top of my forums:

I'd like that gone, so naturally I clicked "Add a custom signature." Well, when I do that I get this message:

As a contributor, am I not allowed to have a custom signature? Honestly, I don't care whether I have a sig or not. What I really want is this box gone from the top of my forum view. So, I'd be happy with either result: let me add a signature, or remove the box.

I collapsed it using the little "minimize" icon in the upper right, but it just reopens the next time the page loads.

EDIT: I just noticed my contributor status is gone.
I renewed that just a few months ago, so something else to look into. Here's a screenshot from PayPal, if it helps...

Heya,

I am looking into this, I see you listed as a full membership contributor. It has to be a permissions setting, standby for updates.

Great, thanks. I thought I lost my contributor status because the "contributor" badge is no longer listed below my username on my posts.

Well, I've got the "contributor" badge back, but I still can't get rid of that Signature thing on my forum page. It's still saying "Sorry, you are not permitted to have a signature" whenever I click it

Re: No Allowed to Add a Signature

That set up progress box above your forums will go away once that has all been completed. I tinkered around your account and ensured that you are able to have a signature.

Can you give it a try now and let us know if that works (and that the box goes away)? Thanks for your patience.

Cheers,
Natalie

Re: No Allowed to Add a Signature

I gave it another try, and it is still saying the same thing. It definitely doesn't want to let me create a signature.

Re: No Allowed to Add a Signature

Hey,

You're trying to access your signature edit page from that progress tracker, correct? Can you please try to change your signature from the User CP instead of clicking that link. Can you also try clearing out your cache and cookies before you give this a shot, just to make sure that your browser isn't trying to pull up a old save from before we made that permission change.

Correct, I'm trying to use the Progress Tracker (as shown in the original post). I cleared my cache and cookes, logged out, then logged back in. It still gave me the same error message when I tried to use the Progress Tracker again.

So, I tried to locate "signature" within my User CP but after 5 minutes of searching could not find it. Can you tell me where that's located? Once I know, I'll give that a try.

Re: No Allowed to Add a Signature

OK - with no direct links, please do the following:

User CP (top right corner) > left side, under Settings & Options, select Edit Signature > Enter desired info for signature, when completed - hit "Save Signature" below the "Upload" button.

Let us know if you're still seeing the same error message after this.

Thank you,
Natalie

No wonder I couldn't find it. That option doesn't exist under my User CP. This is what I have:

Re: No Allowed to Add a Signature

Natalie, can we just disable the signature setup... they were always disabled for users anyways so everyone will see the prompt that isn't really needed.
