Site logging me off? Timing out?

Am I the only one that gets logged off automatically after a few minutes? Just wondering... and it has happened on more than one pc and in more than one location.

Not that its a big deal, but a couple of times I have written a long reply, private message, or (like today) a new thread in the "pickups and wiring" section... and I may get interrupted or just take a while to type it up. Then I click submit... and it says I need to be logged in to post something. Dang... lost everything I had written! So I usually just say screw it and close the browser and resume normal life.

I know I'm not the fastest typist and I can ramble a little bit (like now), but it seems to log me off after just a few minutes. Is there a pc setting that affects this? Is it a general setting on the webiste?

When you login you have to check the little box that says 'remember me'. Or if you've typed a long post do ctrl c to copy the text just in case...that way if you get logged out then you can login and just paste all the text back in ;o)

I usually do the "copy" thing just in case, but today I didn't think I had been logged on that long... and sometimes I don't think about it and just click submit.

Maybe I'll try the "remember me" radial button... I have just trained myself over time to never have websites retain my info. Habit from working in hospitals forever, I guess.

Thanks!

If you click the "remember me" button you will stay logged in all day depending on your computer settings... It will cure your problem

I always click "remember me", but sometimes still find that I've been logged out. Not sure if it has anything to do with switching back and forth between my PC laptop and my iPad and iPhone. Irritating when it happens though, because I usually have to dig up my password and username, lol.

Same thing happens to me a lot. I click the "remember me" box. I was putting it down to the fact that I seem to have the ability to make a long story even longer. I'm sure civilisations have timed out during some of my posts. Just glad I'm not the only one.
