Why not allow post editing?

I'm not sure if it's discussed anywhere, but why is there no function to edit posts? It would cut down on worthless bumps in sale threads.

Re: Why not allow post editing?

Search for more, but the recap you can edit anywhere but classifieds. This is to prevent any possible fraud, miscommunication, etc while also showing a clear history of the listed item. For the item currently listed and/or previously listed. For example would you want a seller editing the condition of a listing after it's arrived and you feel it was misrepresented? ... glen

I understand the concern. Post edits are time-stamped, correct?

Yes, when you edit a post it will show a stamp that states, "Last edited on xxxxx at xxxx.

Now, I've just edited this post--look what it shows. Also, as Glen mentioned, you can find answers to this question if you search for them--the best place to start is by reading the Jemsite rules.
