Sounds like a great way to prevent many useless posts from those who insist on having the last word.

Let the thread banning begin!

Now you know he's only going to be banning me when he wants the last word in a thread!

Thumbs up re: Your Security/Protection (multi logins, IPs, contacting others, etc.)

I am very new to this forum, but have been on others where it is a 4 alarm fun fest and nothing but total havoc. I'm glad this site has measures and continues to implement measures to ward off the trouble. It is nice to be able to read and paticipate without nonsense. Thanx, Bill

Ahhhh yes. Glen and Rich in debate....what would Jemsite be without it? Personally, I think it's good to read most of it to understand both sides of the debate.

Just an FYI i am implimenting SERVER BANS now.

It seems some troublemakers can't stay away from the site after they are suspended and/or banned so now they won't be able to view jemsite.com in any manner.

If you misbehave then send nasty emails please realize you will NOT be have access to ANY PART of jemsite again

this is just a thought..these folk who are using different ids every time they log in are obviously up to no good.could they not be banned from trading, that way you keep all the good eggs in the basket and out the bad.that way the good genuine members can buy and sell in confidence.

re: Your Security/Protection (multi logins, IPs, contacting others, etc.)

i ban several new logins a day. it's well beyond that.

we're at the point where we're tracking new members, they can't contact anyone (but me), can't PM, can't see profiles, can only post in teh VERIFY forum (where their IP is now visible) and if they post links in that post or buzzwords like IPOD or NINTENDO their post gets flagged and rejected to the moderator queue

but you're always going to have exposure to bad elements if you allow normal, good people to join jemsite... glen

In general good common sense. Seems fair enough to me.
