I own a peavey valveking halfstack and I dont know if i can break my amp by only having one speaker output jack plugged in to the amp going from the cab, it says the jacks are series paralelled and what not, is having one output jack plugged in ok? or am i supposed to have two for this amp? i just bought it yesterday on craigslist and it only came with one. is it running in mono right now, and if i plug two jacks in does it run in stereo? im a tube amp noob please help me out!

Re: guitar cabinet ohm help PLEASE READ!!!!

You are fine running one cabinet. The Valve King cab is 16 ohms so set the head's impedance selector to 16 ohms. Only use (1) output from the head into (1) input on the cab.

You can run any single cab with a minimum impedance of 16 ohms or you can run any 2 cabs as long as their impedance is not lower than 8 ohms.

As far running stereo, the Valve King head is not stereo and neither is the cab. 2 inputs doesn't not necessarily make a cab stereo. To run in stereo, you need (2) heads or a head that uses (2) power amps. Even then you need some kind of effect to create the stereo imaging like a chorus or delay.

If you didn't get a manual for the head, then visit Peavey's site and download one. That will tell you everything you need to know about it.
