JS20th replica..

Been having some fun creating a low budget replica of the JS 20th, what parts, from which models would I need to get CLOSE to the real thing.. ??

Given that the paint and so on will be custom..

Thanks in advance..

PJ.

Re: JS20th replica..

When you say "low budget" what kind of numbers are you talking? How "close to the real thing" do you want to get? Obviously you would want the best guitar for the least amount of money. Are you trying to get, say js-100 close, or higher quality?
If you have a JS body you are getting custom painted, you could get a beat up old MIJ 550 or something with an old style tilt neck joint off ebay, and strip it for the good hardware, pups, and japanese neck. That would probably be fairly low cost $300 or maybe less probably if you look around...

Re: JS20th replica..

Is there a body from another model that's the same or are the js series unique?

Re: JS20th replica..

Look into an old 540 Radius. The JS body is based off of that. You might save a lot of headache by scoring a HH Radius and getting it painted. Golden era, Japan made, cheap

Re: JS20th replica..

+1 on the Radius!
If anything, that's a good base model to get you close.
You can also get the JS body from Nate Pearle--Pearls Guitars on eBay.
