Hey everyone, I’ve been playing for about 20 years. I’ve got 3 ibanez, UV777bk, RG550, and an older S series, a jackson soloist, 2 strats and a Tele. I’m joined to see if I could get advise on bringing the universe back to life after a 10 year period of neglect, where it seemed to develop a few electrical issues.

Howdy. I've been playing guitar for 4ish years. I'm from Binghamton Ny but I spend alot of time in Erie PA for college. I got a epiphone les Paul, a Yamaha sc-600 and a telecaster. I just ordered a 1992 Ibanez rg770dx in ruby red but I haven't gotten it due to quarantine. I've recently got really into ibamez guitars specifically from about 87-93. I'd like to start collecting ibanezes at some point. I'm really looking for a 580t, 580b, 540p and anything in an obnoxious color.

New here, but not to Jem!

Stopping by too introduce myself,
Hale from outside Philadelphia suburbs, made a bonehead move about 19 years ago selling my 90, 77fp and not a day has gone by I didnt regret it!
The only amazing outcome to that is I was able to pick up a 91 in almost mint condition this week at what I feel was a good price. I always said I will own another one but the condition had to be near perfect, hense the 19 years of looking for one.
I'll go into the proper section and post some pictures, hopefully others from this fourm would like to see it and maybe have some insight into the world of collecting Jems, I have noticed their are alot of very knowledgeable collectors on this site!

Hi All,
Newby on here but have a question for all you Jem/Universe buffs.
I have a UV7PWH serial number 90XXXX, and what I think is a Jem 77FP serial number 90XXXX. The reason I say "I think" is because when I bought the Jem, from an advert out of Loot (a pre Ebay paper in the 90's) the guitar had been taken down to the wood so the floral pattern had been lost.
The guitar still has the pink pickups, volume controls and the vine fret board inlay.
My question is can you be sure what the model is from the serial number or does it just tell you the year it was made and its level in the number of guitars made that year?
A further question I have is, does anybody know of any guitar restorers that can get the FP back to it's original glory?
Any help would be much appreciated.

Hello all. My name is Ryan, from Sydney, Australia, age 30. I love all things Ibanez and have been trading these guitars on and off since 2008.
My current guitars. A blue JS100, a candy apple red 1991 Radius, an SZ320 in black and two generic old Japanese acoustics.
Would appreciate a shout out from any other members from Australia or anyone who is interested or has one of the guitars I own!

Hey all, I’m new to the Ibanez world. Just purchased my first one, and it needs some love.. trying to get as much info about it as I can to figure out what’s needed for a successful restoration. Any help s would be greatly appreciated.

Hello fine folks. I come to you with the sad news. Due to the pandemic I am forced to sell my beloved RG3550MZ in Roadster Orange Metallic.
Thanks and God Bless

Hello! I'm A.J., I've been a member before, long time ago but lost my old email account. I am born and bred in the USA, east coast. I have been playing guitar and Ibanez since 1981, my first Ibanez was my father's lawsuit era Les Paul custom. Have owned and played roadstars, Sabres, RGs, artists and obviously the old Les Pauls. During the 90s when Ibanez was cheesy and didn't have the edge bridge in its original form, I avoided them and recently became devout again when the genesis stuff was released. HALLELUJAH!! During the period of edge exile and abominations (edge zero and the like) I learned about hoshino and traditional Japanese businesses out of the need to know why they chose to abandon all their best creations. I have been playing guitar so long that now I cannot make it through 3 set gigs due to hand problems. Which is probably just as well since society seems to be headed towards "demolition man" style distancing and who knows if gigs will even be the same.

Hello everyone,

I've been lurking around here since 2017, a few months after buying my first Ibanez.

A used Indo RG421 MOL. It was maybe 6 months old, pickups swapped for a TZ/AN combo but the owner decided he was a bass player.

Since then it has been refinished to candy Burple and the pickups have been swapped again: a DiMarzio Titan set.

Now it's time for another swap and I'm hoping to tap the collective knowledge here for some insight.

Hey folks - Phillip Harmonic here. I was a little late to the Jem party due to my mother taking a while to push me out, but I've been into Ibanez just about since that happened. I've got a whole bunch of Ibanez guitars like a genesis purple 550, RG657, RG752AHM and just one Jem, the budget one. Jem70VSFG. The Jem I'd like the most is a 777LNG reissue and I won't rest until I acquire one! Looking forward to mingling with you all.
