new pickups for s470 help

Hey there. I'm in the process of upgrading my old 2001 Ibanez S470 mahogany wood body guitar (SLIM). I already posted a thread about the tremolo system but this thread is about the pickups. My guitar still have their original AH1/AH2 humbucker pickups (used on the Joe Satriani Signature JS100 and JS600 models). I use the AH1 pickups (neck position) when i play solos and the AH2 (bridge) to play riffs as these sound bassy. Only problem is that they still sound weak and the AH1 sound too bassy for soloing. My band plays melodic death metal and I need good bridge pickups with a good fat sound for when I play riffs (I'm the rhythm guitarist for most parts) and some clear sounding neck pickups for when I do solos. The two brands I've been looking into are Dimarzio and Seymour Duncans. Remember, I use an S-Series so not too much wood on the guitar as a normal sized RG. Anyone have any good recommendations or that can offer any help since this is my first time buying pickups? Thanks in advance.

Re: new pickups for s470 help

Due to personal preference I'd say go with a tone zone in bridge and air norton in the neck (both dimarzios). or the John Petrucci combo because you can't really go wrong with those in any guitar.
