Several questions about jem7v

Hi. I wanted to ask some questions about jem7v guitars as i have been seeing a lot 7Vs in here for sale. First of all i've only played with rosewood fingerboards from which i'm really pleased. Well older jem7Vs have ebony fretboard. What's the differrence between those two? And i've played only with floyd rose tremble which ,as far as i'm concerned, is one of the best. What about the one that jem7v has? And ,also, what's the big difference between one jem7v 2008 and one 2005 for instance.

sorry for all those questions but till now i have been just playing without thinking what's the fretboard made from etc. I know i sound really newbie right now but it' true. (this doesn't mean i can't play though :P i can easily play steve vai's songs and that's one big reason to get the jem )

Re: Several questions about jem7v

The Ebony fretboard sounds supposedly brighter than rosewood. The trem on the Jem is an Edge Pro-works like a floyd, great tuning stability.

Re: Several questions about jem7v

Personally i like the ebony boards better. The wood is harder than rosewood. But as far as i am concerned i really like the dark black look of it...

Re: Several questions about jem7v

The Edge Pro is a licensed Floyd Rose which means Ibanez took the Floyd Rose design and improved it tremendously. It uses a knife edge at its fulcrum to reduce friction and keeps the guitar in tune even after dive-bombing all day. I've played all of the different Ibanez tremolo's and even the much-maligned Lo-TRS model, which I have on my RG470TI, rocks immensely! I bought a 7vWH recently and the ebony fretboard definitely makes a difference sound-wise and it plays faster, but that maybe because of the 6105 Dunlop frets. It's a great guitar!!! Buy one. You won't be disappointed!
